A Minnesota man has pleaded guilty to driving his motorized La-Z-Boy chair while drunk. A criminal complaint says 62-year-old Dennis LeRoy Anderson told police he left a bar in the northern Minnesota town of Proctor on his chair after drinking eight or nine beers.
Prosecutors say Anderson's blood alcohol content was 0.29, more than three times the legal limit, when he crashed into a parked vehicle in August 2008. He was not seriously injured.
Police said the chair was powered by a converted lawnmower and had a stereo and cup holders.
Sixth Judicial District Judge Heather Sweetland stayed 180 days of jail time Monday and ordered two years of probation for Anderson. His attorney, David Keegan, did not immediately return a call for comment.

A HALLOWEEN CHEESECAKE RECIPE--DON'T BE SCARED!! BOO!!
HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE WITH GRAVEYARD CRUST RECIPE
Graveyard Crust1 1/2 cups ground gingersnap cookies1 1/2 cups toasted pecans (about 6 ounces)1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted
Halloween Pumpkin Filling4 8-ounce packages cream cheese, room temperature1 2/3 cups sugar1 1/2 cups canned solid pack pumpkin (Check Contents)9 tablespoons whipping cream (Check Date)1 teaspoon ground cinnamon1 teaspoon ground allspice4 large fresh eggs (Check Date)1 cup fresh sour cream (Check Date)
Steps For the Graveyard Crust:Open your oven door and check inside for Ghosts or Goblins...!Then preheat your oven to 350°F.Finely grind ground cookies, pecans and sugar in a processor. Add melted butter and blend until combined. Press crust mixture onto bottom and up sides of 9-inch-diameter springform pan with 2 3/4-inch-high sides.
Steps For the Halloween Filling:Using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese and sugar in large bowl until light. Transfer 3/4 cup mixture to small bowl; cover tightly and refrigerate to use for topping. Add the pumpkin, 4 tablespoons whipping cream, ground cinnamon and ground allspice to mixture in large bowl and beat until well combined. Add the eggs one (1) at a time, beating them just until combined.Pour filling into crust (filling will almost fill pan). Bake until cheesecake puffs, top browns and center moves only slightly when pan is shaken, about 1 hour 15 minutes. Transfer cheesecake to rack and cool 10 minutes. Run small sharp knife around cake pan sides to loosen cheesecake. Cool. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight.
Bring remaining 3/4 cup cream cheese mixture to room temperature. Add remaining 5 tablespoons whipping cream to cream cheese mixture and stir to combine. Press down firmly on edges of cheesecake to even thickness. Pour cream cheese mixture over cheesecake, spreading evenly. Cover and refrigerate.
Release pan sides from cheesecake. Spoon sour cream into pastry bag and make a decorative border around the cheesecake and serve.
This is a great recipe for a Halloween Party and to spice up your holiday assortment of great desserts.
Serves 10 to 12 delicious and tasty servings to family, friends, ghosts and goblins.

I missed McGRAW on LETTERMAN last night
In advance of his upcoming album, Southern Voice, Tim McGraw will perform an exclusive "Live on Letterman" Web cast concert at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City on Monday (Oct. 12) at 8 p.m. ET. He will return for a performance and interview on the Late Show With David Letterman on Friday (Oct. 16). In addition, he'll perform on Today on Oct. 23, The Jay Leno Show on Oct. 27 (with guest Gregg Allman) and The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Oct. 29. Southern Voice will be released on Oct. 20. McGraw is expected to announce tour dates in the near future.

Merle Smith, 80, of Rockvale, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, in Murfreesboro.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Lincoln County. She was a homemaker and a retired bookkeeper for Crosslin Supply Company in Eagleville. She was a member of Rockvale Cumberland Presbyterian Church. For 17 years Mrs. Smith was the pianist for the Stem Quartet, which performed throughout Tennessee, Alabama, and Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Lloyd and Frances Josephine Sullivan Sowell.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Allen Smith of Rockvale; children, Linda Smith Adams and Rev. Eddie Smith, both of Murfreesboro; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Rockvale Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Joyce Merritt, Rev. Eddie Smith, and Rev. Christian Smith officiating. Burial followed in Rocky Glade Cemetery, near Eagleville.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.

PLATINUM PROFILE: KENNY CHESNEY
Kenneth Arnold (Kenny) Chesney (born March 26, 1968) is an American country music artist. Since 1993, Chesney has recorded 13 albums, 11 of which have been certified gold or higher by the RIAA. He has also produced more than 30 Top Ten singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, 17 of which reached Number One. In addition, Chesney has received six ACM (including four consecutive Entertainer of the Year Awards),[1] as well as six CMA awards. Chesney is also one of the most popular touring acts in country music, regularly selling out the venues at which he performs;[2][3] his 2007 Flip-Flop Summer Tour was the highest-grossing country road trip of 2007.[4] He was awarded his 4th consecutive ACM Entertainer of the Year award on May 18, 2008.
Chesney was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, at St. Mary's Hospital on March 26, 1968. His mother Karen, was, and still is, a hair stylist in the Knoxville area. His father, David Chesney, is a former elementary school teacher. Chesney has one sibling, a younger sister named Jennifer Chandler. He was raised in Luttrell, Tennessee, and attended Gibbs High School, where he was a receiver on the football team, and graduated in 1986. The following year, Kenny received his first guitar for Christmas, which he began teaching himself to play. He had previously attempted guitar playing at age 5 but quit because "it hurt his fingers."[5]
Chesney studied in East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee, where he joined Lambda Chi Alpha International Fraternity and was member of the ETSU Bluegrass Program. Chesney played tunes at local places around Johnson City like Chucky's Trading Post (a small Mexican restaurant), Quarterbacks BBQ, and Rafters. He recorded his first album in 1989 at Classic Recording Studio in Bristol, Virginia. One thousand copies were produced and Chesney sold them at his busking gigs, using the money from album sales to help buy a new guitar.[6]
In 1990, Chesney graduated from East Tennessee State University with a degree in advertising.[6] After graduation, he headed to Nashville, where he performed at several local clubs. After making the rounds of the music publishers in Nashville, Chesney signed to contract in 1992 with BMI and Opryland Music Group.
In My Wildest Dreams
Chesney's first album, In My Wildest Dreams, was released on the independent Capricorn Records label in 1994. The album's lead-off singles, "The Tin Man" and "Whatever It Takes", both reached the lower regions of the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts. The album sold approximately 10,000 copies before Capricorn Records closed its country music division that year.[7]
All I Need to Know
After Capricorn's closure, Chesney signed to BNA Records, which released his album All I Need to Know in 1995. The album produced three hit singles: "Fall in Love" and the title track (both of which reached Top Ten), and "Grandpa Told Me So", which peaked at #23.[7] "The Tin Man" was also included on this album, although it was not re-released as a single at the time.
Me and You
Released in 1996, Chesney's second major-label album was Me and You.[7] Although its lead-off single peaked just outside the Top 40 on the country charts, the album's title track (which was reprised from All I Need to Know) and the single "When I Close My Eyes" (which was previously recorded by Larry Stewart on his 1993 debut album Down the Road) both peaked at #2 on the Billboard country charts. Me and You was also Chesney's first gold-certified album.[7] A cover of Mac McAnally's 1990 single "Back Where I Come From" was also included on this album; although Chesney's version was never released as a single, it has become a staple of his concerts.
I Will Stand
I Will Stand, Chesney's third album for BNA, was released in 1997. "She's Got It All", which served as the album's lead-off single, became Chesney's first Billboard Number One single, spending three weeks at the top of the country charts.[7] The album's second single, "A Chance", peaked just shy of Top Ten, while its follow-up, "That's Why I'm Here", went to #2 on Billboard in 1998. ("That's Why I'm Here" reached Number One on Radio & Records, giving Chesney his third Number One overall.) Also in 1998, Chesney recorded a limited-edition single titled "Touchdown Tennessee". The single was a tribute to John Ward, a former broadcaster for the University of Tennessee Volunteers' football team; St. Jude's Children's Hospital and the John Ward Scholarship Fund received a portion of the single's sales.

Chesney was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, at St. Mary's Hospital on March 26, 1968. His mother Karen, was, and still is, a hair stylist in the Knoxville area. His father, David Chesney, is a former elementary school teacher. Chesney has one sibling, a younger sister named Jennifer Chandler. He was raised in Luttrell, Tennessee, and attended Gibbs High School, where he was a receiver on the football team, and graduated in 1986. The following year, Kenny received his first guitar for Christmas, which he began teaching himself to play. He had previously attempted guitar playing at age 5 but quit because "it hurt his fingers."[5]
Chesney studied in East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee, where he joined Lambda Chi Alpha International Fraternity and was member of the ETSU Bluegrass Program. Chesney played tunes at local places around Johnson City like Chucky's Trading Post (a small Mexican restaurant), Quarterbacks BBQ, and Rafters. He recorded his first album in 1989 at Classic Recording Studio in Bristol, Virginia. One thousand copies were produced and Chesney sold them at his busking gigs, using the money from album sales to help buy a new guitar.[6]
In 1990, Chesney graduated from East Tennessee State University with a degree in advertising.[6] After graduation, he headed to Nashville, where he performed at several local clubs. After making the rounds of the music publishers in Nashville, Chesney signed to contract in 1992 with BMI and Opryland Music Group.
In My Wildest Dreams
Chesney's first album, In My Wildest Dreams, was released on the independent Capricorn Records label in 1994. The album's lead-off singles, "The Tin Man" and "Whatever It Takes", both reached the lower regions of the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts. The album sold approximately 10,000 copies before Capricorn Records closed its country music division that year.[7]
All I Need to Know
After Capricorn's closure, Chesney signed to BNA Records, which released his album All I Need to Know in 1995. The album produced three hit singles: "Fall in Love" and the title track (both of which reached Top Ten), and "Grandpa Told Me So", which peaked at #23.[7] "The Tin Man" was also included on this album, although it was not re-released as a single at the time.
Me and You
Released in 1996, Chesney's second major-label album was Me and You.[7] Although its lead-off single peaked just outside the Top 40 on the country charts, the album's title track (which was reprised from All I Need to Know) and the single "When I Close My Eyes" (which was previously recorded by Larry Stewart on his 1993 debut album Down the Road) both peaked at #2 on the Billboard country charts. Me and You was also Chesney's first gold-certified album.[7] A cover of Mac McAnally's 1990 single "Back Where I Come From" was also included on this album; although Chesney's version was never released as a single, it has become a staple of his concerts.
I Will Stand
I Will Stand, Chesney's third album for BNA, was released in 1997. "She's Got It All", which served as the album's lead-off single, became Chesney's first Billboard Number One single, spending three weeks at the top of the country charts.[7] The album's second single, "A Chance", peaked just shy of Top Ten, while its follow-up, "That's Why I'm Here", went to #2 on Billboard in 1998. ("That's Why I'm Here" reached Number One on Radio & Records, giving Chesney his third Number One overall.) Also in 1998, Chesney recorded a limited-edition single titled "Touchdown Tennessee". The single was a tribute to John Ward, a former broadcaster for the University of Tennessee Volunteers' football team; St. Jude's Children's Hospital and the John Ward Scholarship Fund received a portion of the single's sales.

Clemens' attorney admitted that a relationship existed, but described McCready as a "close family friend." He also stated that McCready had traveled on Clemens' personal jet and that Clemens' wife was aware of the relationship. Clemens issued a statement saying only that "I have made mistakes in my personal life for which I am sorry." However, McCready confirmed the relationship as being sexual in nature.
On November 17, 2008, McCready spoke in more detail to Inside Edition about her affair with Clemens. She stated that their relationship lasted for more than a decade, and that it ended when Clemens refused to leave his wife to marry McCready. An arrest warrant was issued for McCready the following month for violation of her probation when she left Tennessee without permission from her probation officer. McCready was also charged with not reporting to her probation officer during the month of July.She was finally arrested in Florida and returned to Tennessee. McCready faced a hearing later that year on charges of violating her probation on a drug charge by failing to check in with her probation officer and leaving the state without permission to go to FLORIDA .
In July 2007, McCready was arrested in Ft. Myers, Florida. She was charged with battery and resisting arrest for an apparent scuffle with her mother. The following week, she was taken into custody at the Nashville International Airport for violating probation. In September, McCready was sentenced to a year in jail for violating probation. In addition to the jail time, she was ordered to serve two more years of probation and perform 200 additional hours of community service. She was released from jail in December.
In June 2008, McCready was arrested in Tennessee for violating the terms of her probation set in September 2007 Sentenced to 60 days in jail, McCready turned herself in on September 30, 2008. After serving half of her sentence, she was released early for good behavior on October 31, 2008.

McCready faced a hearing later that year on charges of violating her probation on a drug charge by failing to check in with her probation officer and leaving the state without permission to go to FLORIDA .
In July 2007, McCready was arrested in Ft. Myers, Florida. She was charged with battery and resisting arrest for an apparent scuffle with her mother. The following week, she was taken into custody at the Nashville International Airport for violating probation. In September, McCready was sentenced to a year in jail for violating probation. In addition to the jail time, she was ordered to serve two more years of probation and perform 200 additional hours of community service. She was released from jail in December.
In June 2008, McCready was arrested in Tennessee for violating the terms of her probation set in September 2007 Sentenced to 60 days in jail, McCready turned herself in on September 30, 2008. After serving half of her sentence, she was released early for good behavior on October 31, 2008.
